(June 21, 2008) – The second FIVB World League
match between the No. 3 U.S. National Team and the No. 4
Bulgarian National Team lived up to its billing as it came
down to a fifth set, which Bulgaria won, taking a 12-25,
25-16, 25-20, 12-25, 15-13 victory on Saturday at the
Sears Centre Arena.

(June 27, 2008) - The Volleyball Hall of
Fame announced today the names of six volleyball greats
who will be inducted as the Class of 2008 into its
hallowed halls on Oct. 23 in Holyoke, Mass., the sports'
birthplace.

Ojukwu Leads
Rams To 3-0 Sweep Of Seahawks

Freshman Jessica Ojukwu posted a
match-high 15 kills and hit .480 as Virginia Commonwealth
defeated UNC Wilmington, 30-16, 30-24, 30-21 in Colonial
Athletic Association volleyball action Friday at the Alltel
Pavilion. The Rams improve to 6-13 on the season and even
their conference record at 3-3, while the Seahawks slip to
7-15 on the year, including a 1-5 mark in the league.

Seniors Shari Matthews and Kai Wright amassed 20 kills
apiece to lead North Carolina Central to a 24-30, 30-20,
30-25, 23-30, 15-10 victory over UNC Wilmington Tuesday at the
LeRoy T. Walker Complex. Freshman Rachael Caricato notched 13
kills to pace three Seahawks in double figures as sophomore
Anna Price recorded 12 and sophomore Paula McConnell chipped
in 11. Senior setter Jill Hoeck dished out 47 assists while
sophomore Ashlyn Morris tallied a career-high 37 digs.

Junior Lauren DeTurk tallied a match-best 17 kills and
added 14 digs while junior Kira Batura notched 16 kills and
pitched in 19 digs to lead Northeastern to a 30-26, 30-24,
26-30, 30-19 victory over UNC Wilmington in Colonial Athletic
Association volleyball action Sunday at Hanover Hall. Junior
Megan Nash and freshman Rachael Caricato, right, posted 12
kills apiece to lead the Seahawks attack. Caricato also added
a team-best 14 digs for her third double-double of the season.
Senior Jill Hoeck dished out 40 assists and 10 digs for her
fifth double-double of the 2007 campaign.
